VanCAF IS THIS WEEKEND! (May 25-26, 2013)
It’s going to be great show, so many of your favourite artists will be there. I’m even hosting a panel discussion about warrior women in comics along with an intimidating group of super-artists . There will also be a print of my little social anxiety comic for sale at my table. I really, really hope to see you there!

Marvin is my mews. He has a double-jointed tail that flips over his back like the handle of a tea pot. He could give Grumpy Cat a run for her money in the grump department.

Anonymous asked: Hey Rebecca, I'm a friend of Bougie's, Ashley Strayer. from Seattle. I have a tattoo appointment booked for August where I'm trying to think of something to cover up the tattoos on my feet and I would love to get some of your plump warriors on my feet. Could I get your blessing? Would you be open to drawing something custom? Otherwise, as long as it's OK by you, I was just going to pick something from your tumblr. Thank you. I ADORE your art!
Hi Ashley,
You definitely have my blessing, in fact I would be honored to have a Kitten Rider etched in your flesh!
Sorry I won’t be able to do any original art, but feel free to pick any one from my Tumblr or Flickr. All I ask is for a photo of the finished work. Can’t wait to see it!

First I drew the tree using a 4B pencil on watercolor paper, scanned it, messed with the levels to make the lines as dark and the paper as bright as I could, then separated the lines.
Taking the original line drawing I added an ink wash, scanned it, then after that I colored it in PS using overlay and multiply layers. By bringing in the line art, lining it up and preserving the transparency I was able to color those lines separately.
Then there was endless twiddling and fussing.
Overall, I’m happy with the results, but there was a bit of a problem with some shadowing underneath the top line art, which only became an issue when using lightly colored lines. For that I would use the clone stamp to knock out the bottom line.

Decided to take in the mounted head of the Common Babelbrax, that I harvested in the Purple Stink Plains that covers the third moon off of Bustylicious IV, into work today.
Battle Buddy, Marvin, is demonstrating his take-down technique that helped me bag the beast.
